The Tamil National Alliance seek the Indian central government to send a Special Envoy to Sri Lanka. |
| They seek this to be a neutral political personality, who would be able to give the Indian Prime Minister and the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, correct advice on matters relating to refugee rehabilitation and political settlement. TNA’s Jaffna district MP Suresh Premachandran, told that both Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Chief Minister M Karunanidhi would “benefit” by the advice of an envoy of this kind. However, Premachandran felt that there was lack of clarity in India on the issue. The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister was not clear about the expectations from a special envoy or even what kind of person he should be, the MP said. Meanwhile chief minister M.Karunanidhi however sent a latter to prime minister Manmohan Sing regarding this issue earlier. |
