 President Mahinda Rajapakse said, according to the desires of the nongovernmental organizations, amendments will not be done in the constitution. But amendments will be introduced in the constitution according to the desire of the people of this country. |
| President made a statement at Hakmana that regarding constitutional reforms diplomatic discussions are held with the opposition party leader Ranil Wickramasinghe. He said, he anticipates in attending the parliament sessions. He pointed out that people had given him two third majority but only six seats are less. Meanwhile he said, taking into consideration the country’’s safety and the interests of the future generation, political amendments will be processed. |
