 Health Minister Maithiripala Sirisena said, mistakes done by the previous Health ministry is the reason for the shortage of medicines prevailing now in Sri Lanka. One of the Senior Ministers of the ruling party, Maithiripala Sirisena, accused his counterpart Senior Minister Nimal Sri Pala De Silva by accusing that this situation is due to the improper manner the administration activities processed by the previous Ministry.

| The previous administration mishandled the Ministry responsibilities; hence shortages for medicines are now prevailing in the country. The Health Minister affirmed, that this situation will not continue in the future, for which appropriate action has now been taken. |
