Accusations are that the nongovernmental organizations are prohibited to enter the Jaffna area. Some nongovernmental organizations which have links with the government are only permitted to enter Vanni district. |
| Reports publish that in this category such organizations are prohibited to enter Jaffna. The prohibition is given by the Special Task Force under President which is headed by Minister Basil Rajapakse. Government had placed a prohibition towards the nongovernmental organization, which has constructed about 15 thousand houses in the Jaffna region. Many nongovernmental organizations has submitted many working plans in the Vanni district, but such projects were not taken into consideration. Information reveals this restriction not only to the international organization but also applies to the local organizations. |
