Prime Minister with executive powers is like supplying old wine in new bottle

The opposition parties for a long period were continuously protesting that the Executive Presidency system should be abolished. But the government was in the aim of extending the president’’s term under the new political constitution. Due to this information, United National Party leader Ranil Wickramasinghe met President and submitted the proposals for the executive premier system. Meanwhile the entire powers which were existing to the executive president will get transferred to the newly introduced executive primer system. Hence the executive president system is like supplying the old wine in a new bottle was stated.

The opposition parties strongly opposed to the extending the president’’s ruling period for which attempts were processed by the government. Presently the opposition parties have agreed to implement the executive premier system which will be similar to the Executive Presidency system.
