 Former Joint forces Chief Officer Sarath Fonseka filed a petition requesting to cancel the election results of the last Presidential election held in the year 2009 was rejected today by the Supreme Court. |
| The five member Supreme Court bench rejected the petition filed by Sarath Fonseka in the basis of four reasons as the petition did not completely fulfill its requirements. The judges team in its verdict informed there was no evidence to prove the alleged presidential election counting assignments were not done illegally and the petitioner had not submitted his petition according to election system. |
