| The ‘œToronto News’ website pointed out the new law introduced by the Canadian government will benefit the government in obstructing the illegal or human smugglers intruding to the country, but the genuine refugees entering the country for some redress, will get affected by the law. According to the new law, if a refugee is detained in prison for a period of one year, there are possibilities that the figures of refugees detained in prison will get increased, was quoted in the website. After much pressure, the refugees will be able to appeal for refugee status but even though the expatriates are provided with refugee status, they will not be considered for permanent residency for a period of five years, which indicates in the new law.
