The audio launch of Aayiram Vilakku took place at Sathyam Cinemas in Chennai today (August 9, 2010). It was a well-attended event with many celebrities present at the venue. Speaking at the function, Sun TV’s Hansraj Saxena said that he liked the story of AV when its director S P Hosimin narrated it to him. Saxena added that the film would turn out to be a hit.

He also made a request to the AV team to postpone its release after September as Endhiran is due to hit the screens that month. According to Saxena, a film like AV should turn out to be a hit and not be eclipsed by Endhiran.

Saxena also lauded Shanthanu, Sana khan and Sathyaraj for their excellent performance in AV.

Salman Khan, who was hosting the show 10 Ka Dum on Sony TV, is moving on to host the popular Bigg Boss Season 4 on Colors TV. Ajit Thakur, EVP and business head, Sony Entertainment, has said that their decision to part ways was taken amicably. He added that the show’s format would, however, remain with Sony TV for the next two years and Salman would be welcome into their fold anytime.

Meanwhile, Sony TV is gearing up to begin the most popular show Kaun Banega Crorepati from October this year with Amitabh Bachchan taking the hot seat once again.

Amala Paul, who made her debut in the film
Veerasekaran, has undergone a name change.
Since there is an actress by that name already,
there is a lot of confusion, the actress
seems to have felt. Following this, director
Samy, who is directing Amala in the film
Sindhu Samaveli has changed her name to
Anaka.

Amala is reportedly happy that she has
got a unique name and says that the name
change is not concerned with astrology or
numerology.

STR is living out of his suitcase these days. Quite literally! The actor, who was busy wrapping up the schedule of Vaanam, is flying to London for the shooting of Poda Podi. Directed by Vignesh Siva, Poda Podi’s heroine is Varalakshmi Sarath Kumar. STR, on his twitter page, has tweeted "Leaving to london tonite for podaa podi .. Next 40 days of shoot , will miss chennai !!!". STR is expected to join the Vaanam crew on September 15 for the next schedule.

Director, producer and actor Sasikumar
who shot up to fame with his Subramaniapuram
is incognito these days. After his production
venture Nadodigal, Sasikumar has been mum
about his next movie. Produced by Vikram,
this movie was earlier titled Nagaram. But
we hear that the title has been changed.
Rumors were also spreading that the hero
of the movie is a 53 year old man which
also has been denied. So what is true about
the movie? Trusted sources say that 90%
of the shooting for the movie has been completed.
Recently, Sasikumar and his crew were seen
at Mangalore Mookambigai temple to wrap
up a schedule for the movie.

So we are waiting to know what this movie
is all about as the expectation meter on
Sasikumar has been shooting up everyday.
When contacted, Sasikumar has informed that
he will come out of his hiding and address
the press in a tell-all meeting.

Vivek Oberoi, the soon-to-be groom, is
known in B-town for his philanthropic activities.
He is associated with Project Devi which
supports young children from under-privileged
families. This is a platform where the children
can become whatever they want to be. Project
Devi also provides education and healthcare
to the children. Recently, Sushmita Sen
and Vivek visited Vrindavan where the children
of Project Devi live. Sushmita was so excited
to meet the children, and the children were

Badminton Championship held recently. Shalini
was playing the women’s doubles partnering
with A Priya opposite Sunedi and Visalakshi.

match and lost to their opponent. Though
his wife was on the verge of losing the
match, Ajith was seen encouraging her from
the stands.

The 57th Idea Filmfare Awards ceremony was held in Chennai on Saturday. Stars and celebrities from all South Indian states attended the extravaganza. It was raining awards as cast and crew were recognized for their outstanding contribution to cinema. And there is one man who is ecstatic about this year’s award. Yes! Yuvan Shankar Raja received the special jury award for Best music director for his excellent score for the Telugu movie Oye. The songs of Oye, starring Siddharth and Shamili and directed by Anand Ranga, were huge hits last year.

Yuvan had earlier received the Filmfare award for best music director in 2004 for his musical score for 7G Rainbow Colony. It is to be noted here that Harris Jeyaraj won the award for the best music director in Tamil.

Directed by Milind Rau, this movie has Divya Spandana as the heroine. Satya, who plays an RJ in the movie, feels that love involves only two people but marriage involves so many people including parents and in-laws. So he feels love is easier than marriage. One look at the teaser makes us believe that this movie is a romantic comedy. With Mouli as Satya’s dad, we can surely expect fireworks on the screen.
