Rakta Charithra was released in Hindi
and Telugu yesterday (October 22nd, 2010)
to packed houses. Vivek Oberoi plays an
important role in this film and so does
Suriya. Vivek dominates the first part
that was released yesterday while it will
be Suriya’s turn on November 19th,
2010 when the second part will be released.

People in Andhra Pradesh and Mumbai,
who have seen this film, have been raving
about Vivek’s performance in this
film. The actor needed a hit desperately
and RC has given it to him at a time when
his wedding is round the corner.

While Vijay is waiting for Kaavalan’s
release and acting in Velayudham, he has
already started to plan ahead. Vijay,
who shows keen interest in Telugu movies,
was recently watching the Telugu hit movie
Brindavaanam. Impressed with the story
of the movie and the fact that the movie
was a hit, Vijay is contemplating on buying
the rights for the same. Brindaavanam
has NTR Jr, Samantha, Kajal Agarwal and
Prakash Raj in important roles.

Vijay’s Kaavalan is also a remake of
the Malayalam hit Bodyguard.

JS Productions’ J Senthil Kumar
is producing the film Thambi Vettothi
Sundaram, which is based on a real life
incident that took place in the Tamil
Nadu – Kerala border in Kumari district.
Karan plays the lead role in this film.

A press note from the producer states
that the roles played by Karan as Vettothi
Sundaram, Saravanan as Salai, and Anjali
as Lourdu Mary are all real characters
that are living in that district till
date.

Cases against some of the people in this
district are still pending in the courts
of law, says the film’s producer.

Siddharth may be a hot favorite among
the Telugu audiences but the star was
not seen much in the Tamil film circuit
lately. But he is currently trying to
break into Kollywood with 180. According
to Siddharth, this bilingual is being
directed by ad maker Jayendra, who he
also terms as his mentor.

180 has Nithya Menon and Priya Anand
sharing the screen space with Siddharth
and all three would be seen in this film’s
Tamil and Telugu versions while the rest
of the cast may differ.

Speaking about this film, the actor recalls
that every scene is being shot twice for
this film and this is a new experience.

Hansika is busy in Pollachi shooting
for Velayudham with Vijay. The actress,
who is yet to have a Tamil film release,
says that she is waiting with bated breath
for Engeyum Kadhal and Mappillai. Ask
her which one would hit the screens first,
and Hansika says that the release date
is not in her hands.

The audio launch of Engeyum Kadhal is
slated to take place soon and there is
one more song to be shot for Mappillai.
It is really tricky to predict which of
these two films will come out first.

Engeyum Kadhal is directed by Prabhu
Deva and Mappillai has Dhanush playing
Hansika’s lead pair.

Shruti Haasan is using every bit of
the opportunity to make her presence felt
in the world of movies, music and fashion.
Recently, the pretty and young actress
was seen walking the ramp at a fashion
show in Hyderabad.

him to have their tourist spots popularized
through Indian films ever since Endhiran
hit the screens. Likewise, there are several
films like 7aam Arivu, Poda Podi and Ko
in the making, which will project foreign
locales.

Vikram was at the Directors’ Council
40th year celebrations and he took the
opportunity to let out what has been running
in his mind. The actor, while paying due
respects to the directors for their capabilities,
said that they should entrust a professional
actor with the lead roles rather than
taking it up for themselves.

industry, it is said that Gauatham Menon
will be dubbing for Bollywood actor Milind
Soman (of Paiyaa fame) in Parthiban’s
Vithagan. Again, dubbing is not something
new to Gautham as he has already lent
his voice to Jeevan in Khaakka Khaakka
and Milind Soman in Pachaikili Muthucharam.
In addition to direction, production and
dubbing, we also know that Gautham did
few dance steps in ‘Manjal Veyil’ song
sequence of Vettaiyadu Vilayadu and has
also done few roles in his other films.
Gautham is certainly multitalented!

The director of Aadukalam, Vetrimaran,
says that the film’s storyline is
quite different from the rest. As per
the story, Dhanush owns a one-legged Seval,
which takes part in several competitions
and emerges as the winner. This story
is something new to the Tamil audience,
says Vetrimaran. The screenplay of Aadukalam
will be fast-paced he adds.

The music director, GV Prakash is importing
several hi-tech instruments from foreign
countries for his studios. Enquiries reveal
that the musician is keen on improving
the facilities in his studio to ensure
that he gives quality music. According
to GV Prakash scoring music for films
like Madarasapattinam requires such latest
equipments.
